The food geniuses behind the scrumptious Bravas, Bakers & Co and CARGO Cantina, Kieran & Imogen Waite, are launching one of their most creative ventures yet – Corner 77!
Launching this Friday, the new venue on the corner of Cheltenham Road and Jamaica Street will bring together a collective of Bristol’s best food vendors and producers in one lovely, inviting space. There will also be a fully licensed bar offering natural wines, craft beer and cocktails.
Their ethos of serving simple, freshly prepared, high quality food will continue with the choice of food line up! The first street food traders to set up inside the venue this weekend are:
Low n Slow – a brand new menu for Corner 77 of slow-smoked pork cheeks with cherry bourbon sauce and also beef short rib with pickled red chillis and house bbq sauce. They will also have their pit beans and cornbread on the menu
Onion Garlic– Turkish meze including stuffed tomatoes and stuffed apricots for dessert
Enggis Kitchen – homemade Indonesian street food created using local ingredients
Natural Piada – serving two types of wraps, one Moroccan and one Italian style
Saturday 5th May (from 6pm)
CARGO Cantina – serving taco favourites from the CARGO restaurant
Double Dutch – Dutch-style skin-on fries made from organic potatoes served with handmade mayo
Natural Piada – as above
I personally don’t know how you are meant to choose here?!? Take a big group of people so you can share and try lots of things!
If that wasn’t enough to tempt you in, Corner 77’s lead brewery, the natural, sustainable and vegan beer Freedom will be inviting the first 50 people in from 5pm to share a free beer with them at the bar and this Saturday the team from El Jimador will be sampling their tequila also from 5pm.
Corner 77 co-owner Imogen Waite explains what lies in store at the venue:
“We’ve got a cracking line up of street food for our opening weekend and with some special tastings at the bar too we hope it’ll be a buzzing atmosphere for people to come down and enjoy our unique new home for independent food & drink.
“Our hope is that Corner 77 will be somewhere for everyone to come and relax with friends or family, enjoy great food, service and atmosphere and that the street food and events we host will mean there’s an ever-changing feast here for our customers. This will give the people of Bristol chance to try what this city’s exciting food scene has to offer here, as well as giving food businesses, pop-ups and supper clubs in the area the opportunity to showcase what they do. It’s a really exciting prospect and the support we’ve had in Bristol for the Corner so far has been completely humbling.”
Keep an eye on the ‘Whats on at Corner 77’ board which will be going up at the front of the venue next week, as well as announcements on bar offers/specials and event updates
