Ceres Coffee: now open for dinner!

The place that serves up one of Bristol’s most loved brunches (the sweetcorn fritters and pancake stack dishes are a must try!) is now open for dinner, and it’s lush! Ceres Coffee, the gorgeous Melbourne style cafe in Stokes Croft, offers a three-course menu based on seasonal, local produce.

The menu – I wanted everything!!!

The menu is small: three starters, three mains and three puds; but you are likely going to want a bit of everything! It also changes weekly, so there are always new things to try (although I am always going to want to eat the doughnuts…)

The lovely Sophie from Saints on a plane brought together some of the fab food lovers of Bristol together last week, where I got to eat the following amazing meal:

  • Awakening the tastebuds was a zingy and fragrant starter of Ceviche, basil and rhubarb.
Ceviche is one of my faves – scrumptious with fragrant basil
  • My main was a particularly incredible combination of perfectly crisp mackerel, roasted parsnip with dill, pine nuts, cranberry and spring onion.
The chefs are flavour magicians – make sure you get a bit of everything on each bite 🙂
Incredible combination of textures and flavours

House special – cinnamon doughnuts, with intensely scrummy salted caramel that you are going to want to drink from the jug!

If you are not ordering the doughnuts, make someone on your table order them so you can try them
Drool-worthy salted caramel sauce

AND it’s BYOB, making this scrumptious food even better value! Get your friends together, grab a few bottles of vino and help make sure this small independent remains as a permanent fixture in Bristol!

Oh and ask them to play their ‘Funk & Soul Classics’ playlist and turn dinner into a bit more of a party 😛

Keep an eye on their social media for upcoming menus:
