Last year was a year of big birthdays in the fam, so to celebrate my mum took us to Las Vegas! No biggie… :-p Travelling with the family means it wasn’t The Hangover style you might expect, but there are some things I would recommend to anyone, no matter what style of holiday you are on…
Just have a wander around the spectacular hotels and marvel and the ridiculous and over-the-top nature of it all. Go on a roller coaster ride through New York; go to the top of the half-scale Eiffel Tower and enjoy the incredible views; (if you’re brave enough) try one of the loopy rides hanging high in the sky over the Stratosphere hotel; and most importantly, watch the beauty of the Bellagio fountains at least five times. 🙂

Go on a helicopter ride in the Grand Canyon. One of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon is a must see for everyone. It’s hard to describe how spectacular it is, you need to experience it! (Not so good for those with an intense fear of heights though… as my brother quickly discovered).

If you are a foodie, go on a food tour early in the trip. Find the tastiest and best value places to eat throughout your holiday. We went on the Lip Smacking Foodie Tour in the last few days and I wish I had gone earlier so I could have gone back to revisit every single restaurant.

Wander at the incredible skill and beauty of Le Reve. Like the name, this stunning show feels like you are in a dream. Dress up fancy – it’s in the beautiful Wynn Hotel. 🙂

Get merry on bottomless Bloody Marys – and continue on with frozen margaritas at the pool. We chose Hard Rock Cafe, mainly because it was opposite our hotel, but I spotted bottomless options all the way along the strip.

Wander downtown (or get the bus) to check out the Fremont street experience – the first paved street built in Las Vegas. You can fly over the whole street on a zip line too!

It’s hard not to have a fab time in Las Vegas. Embrace the loopiness, try to avoid getting too tempted by the enticing flashing lights and music of the slot machines, get out in the sun and try to experience as much as you can!
