When my bank balance does not extend to trips to exotic places, the best I can do is experience the various cuisines from around the world and with some imagination (OK sometimes quite a lot) you can pretend you’re away on hollibobs, at least for the hour or so you are eating.
This time I was dreaming of the Caribbean! So…. Turtle Bay can’t give you the beach and sunshine, BUT it can give you tasty spicy food, lively music and some pretty EPIC fruity mojitos!
The Turtle Bay website declares:
“Eating and drinking is the heart and soul of the island, and Caribbean food is the last undiscovered great cuisine of the world- we’re here to help you find it.” EXCITING!
My eyes were however first drawn to the lush sounding list of cocktails! As a big fan of mojitos (does anyone not love a mojito) I was smug in the fact that I was the first to pick the raspberry based mojito, only to be completely trumped by the dinner date’s choice of passionfruit and vanilla – delicious! Turtle Bay is worth a visit simply for this cocktail!
For the food, I tried something a little bit different with the jerk salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked with a gorgeous crispy skin and covered in tasty jerk glaze, accompanied with a zesty salad. The chips were seasoned to the max and delicious!
The dinner date went for the very tempting sounding “Sunny burger” – with lush sweet potato fries! I was a little jealous.

For anyone with spicy taste buds – a variety of hot sauces are on every table to spice up your dinner to your taste!
- HOT SAUCE!
Overall, a fun and tasty place to eat! Go for a cocktail at least…
